OS - Project week
What fun it is to be in the third grade of High School this year and how lucky we are to have the possibility of organizing extracurricular activities for a whole week!
We won't go to London after all, but what Geneva can offer us is certainly more than any other European city could possibly do! Is that true? We want to find out!
What is this project week?
Our school, the Collège et Ecole de Commerce Madame De Staël, gives us one whole week, from September 24 - 28, 2001, to organize special events, each group of students working on a specific topic.
This is our project: Among the many ideas which came to mind on how to take advantage of this exceptional opportunity, the one that finally seemed the most attractive was to discover International Geneva (La Genève internationale), that is, international organizations, NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) and multinational companies. We also hope to spend a memorable evening with a band of well-known singers locally, The Snappers.
These activities are interesting in themselves but wouldn't it be exciting to experience them with English speaking kids of the same age. This is why we invite students from international schools in Switzerland to come and visit Geneva for a few days. They would certainly be delighted to stay in an international city like Geneva and their parents will be able to assess the importance of this kind of event which could open future prospects - since Geneva is a likely place to find a job for people speaking English fluently. Those students could stay in the families of our own students.
